Some Small Hope featured a duet with David Sylvian and was taken from the album Hope In A Darkened Heart.

A Summer Long Since Passed had originally featured as the B-Side to the 12" release of Love's A Lonely Place To Be and also featured on the album From Gardens Where We Feel Secure.

 

Ryuichi Sakamoto had previously been a member of Yellow Magic Orchestra and was also a successful solo artist.

David Sylvian was former frontman with Japan and had also carved out a successful solo career.

The sleeve design of this single had previously been used for the 12" release of the 1985 single Tender.
