This release was issued as a cassette in a sealable pouch with a foldout card insert.

‘I Live In Dreams’ dates back to the Ravishing Beauties days as a live song. The song was later re-recorded and given a new title ‘Shadows Will Fall Behind’ and featured as a B-side track on the 12″ release of ‘Darkness Has Reached Its End’ in 1985.

State Of Affairs also featured contributions by Cocteau Twins, Modern English, Primal Scream, The Passage and The Wolfgang Press.

The sleeve notes about Virginia’s contribution state:

“Solo-wise she has just signed to Arista for a long-term album deal, but is also setting up a recording co. with Anne Stephenson (co-founder of The Venomettes). Virginia is working on a soundtrack for a film project along with musician/writer Graeme Miller. The personnel on Dreams is: Anne Stephenson, Gini Ball – Violins, Audrey Riley – Cello, Russell Webb – Bass, Jo Wells – Sax and Kate St John (previously Ravishing Beauties) on Cor Anglais and Oboe.”
